My Story

I started making jewellery in my father’s garden workshop as a child. I would make little rings or necklaces using wire and other materials around. And on family holidays or at car boot sales, I started to collect silver pieces for myself.

This interest grew into a passion for professional jewellery making. I trained as a Fine Jewellery Goldsmith at the Sir John Cass School of Art in London. After an apprenticeship with a well-known jeweller in East Anglia, I established my own jewellery business in Essex.

Alongside my wife Anna, who specialises in jewellery valuations and gemmology, Anthony Alferev offers outstanding service in jewellery making, retailing, repairs and appraisal.

With 20 years of experience as a goldsmith and retail jeweller, I am delighted to share my knowledge with you online, at my home studio in Colchester or our office in London.

I like unique jewellery, and my Carbon Fibre collection was born from a chance introduction to this special material and many late nights and experimentations!
